Text: 1st Sam 4:1-11
“And let us bring the ark of our God back to us, for we have not inquired at it since the days of Saul.” 1 Chron 13:3
The ark of God was taken away in the days of Israel’s war against the Philistine because of their (Israel) sin. The ark was to wrought deliverance to Israel but their careless ways cost them the Ark. As long as we walk in God with the purity and sincerity of the heart, the Ark will always abide in and with us.
As David ascended the throne of God in Israel, his first noted step was to gather the Elders of Israel “Let us go and bring back the Ark of our God for we did not inquire of it in the days of Saul”. I believe it’s upon this David’s action that God reckoned him (David) as a man after his heart. God want us to feel His heart and align to it.
David knew that God must be the center port and center reference in Israel. David considered it abnormal to be upon the throne where God is the king while the ark of His presence remains in captivity. To commence the Tabernacle of David is to firstly make God the integral part of our lives. God must have preeminence in all.
Highlight: As long as we walk in God with the purity and sincerity of the heart, the Ark will always abide in and with us.
Prayer: Lord, enable us to retain Your presence all the days of our lives
Benediction: God’s presence will go with you and give you rest.
